I chose to do an alphabet photo essay as
I always enjoyed alphabet books when my
kids were little. I have enjoyed travelling
on roads I've never been on looking for
photos for our weekly assignments and
decided to see if I could find something to
represent each letter.

ANTIQUE-there are a number of these
old pumps around if you keep your eyes open.

BARN-not much left of this old building.

CROCUS-as of April 22, this is the only flower
which has bloomed in my beds.

DROP-after a nice rain this was hanging on
tight. You can see branches reflected in the drop.

EYE-a close up of cow #75J  at a friend's ranch.

FELINE-one of many of the barn cats at the
same ranch.

GRAFFITI-one of the more colorful ones I have
seen on the trains passing through town.

HUMMINGBIRD nest-I never would have seen
this had the leaves been on the trees; it's really tiny.
I hope hummingbirds return to the same nest yearly.

INSULATOR-not too many of these around
anymore. The sun rays in the background were an
unexpected pleasant addition.

JUNKER-nice bold colors.

KICK-an action shot of a member of the
Eastern Montana Martial Arts Academy breaking
her board; she was successful.

LOCOMOTIVE-I liked the way the train was
switching tracks. The gate came down seconds
after this photo was taken. It must have been
snowing east of town.

MAILBOX-passed this on a back road west
of Glendive.

 NEON-sign identifying a local watering
hole in town.

 OUTHOUSE-aka a room with a view
as there is no door. This is considered our
second bathroom at the cabin.

POSTED-a familiar sign in
eastern Montana; must be a reason.

QUAINT-it used to be every person's dream to
own a cute little brick house with a white
picket fence.

 REFLECTIONS...of the past. It's not
everywhere you can see a triceratops but
 you certainly can in Glendive.

STUDEBAKER-still runs! It was the make of the
first car I can remember my folks driving.

TUMBLEWEED-I wonder where all the
tumbleweeds would end up if there were no
barbed wire fences to catch them.

UDDER-I sure hope she didn't mind me
taking her picture like this!!

VINTAGE-I found this 56 Chevy Bel Air
in an alley in town.

WRANGLERS-making cowboy butts look fine
since the mid 1940's. Thanks to the gentleman
for allowing me to take his picture.

Xing...railroad style. Heed the warning!

YUCCA-should be the eastern Montana
regional flower; there's a lot of it.

ZEROES-scoreboard for the DCC Bucs.
